Do you think young people spend too much time indoors, stuck behind a computer screen, playing endless games?
Do you love spending time outdoors and enjoy working with young people?
Would you like to help keep children more active, enjoying sports, crafts and a variety of activities?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions… then Surrey Young Farmers would love to hear from you!
In return we offer support and guidance from a dedicated County office, contacts with local farmers, training opportunities and fantastic new experiences.
No special skills or experience required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in!
Surrey YFC is run almost entirely by volunteers – from club evenings and weekend events to the annual Cowpie show. Our seven clubs run on a weekly basis in term time and they urgently need extra help. If you are interested in helping at a club evening or have a skill or craft you could share with the Young Farmers, we would love to hear from you.
Our annual Cowpie Country Show is a fantastic day out for all the family, full of events and fun for everyone. People can enjoy livestock, rural crafts, main ring displays and of course the show is a venue for our Young Farmers competitions. The Cowpie Country Show is also the main fundraiser for the Surrey Young Farmers Charity.
The committee is currently made up of volunteers who are either current Young Farmers, parents of Young Farmers, past members or key people who have been co-opted to share their particular expertise and skills. Each year the show is planned over 9 months. We would love to hear from you, if you could get involved in any way. There are so many different roles, so you can decide how much (or little) time you are able to offer.
As a charitable organisation we are dependent on fundraising to continue to offer opportunities to our Young Farmers
